Decluttering your space will make you more efficient and productive in all aspects of your life.
For me, an organized space is a form of self – care. A well – organized home will most certainly increase your productivity levels and help tackle your day with the right mindset.
Cleaning of any sort can get very overwhelming, however, these tips will help simplify the process and keep you moving in the right direction.
So let’s tackle the clutter with these simple tips.
Simple tips for decluttering your home.
1. Create A Storage Space For Everything
Creating storage space for everything is a great decluttering tip for your Home.
It’s a lot easier to maintain an organized space when there is a home for everything. So you can remove items from their storage space and put it right back after use.
You could get simple and minimalist organisation systems and incorporate it into your living space.
While doing this its best to make everyone living in your home also ensure that they put items back in their designated space after use.
This method will absolutely keep your space more organized for much longer.
Having a space for everything is also a good way to determine what you actually need and what you have to get rid off
Create designated storage for your kid’s coats, bags, cubbies for small items, and bins and baskets if possible labeled for items.
This may seem overwhelming to figure out at first, but the great part about it is you only have to do this once, and you’ll have an organized system for the longest of time.

2. Let Go Of An Item When You Purchase Something New
Its so easy to fill our home with items that we don’t need, or that no longer serves us.
A rule of thumb in my home is when we purchase something new, we look around for one item that no longer serves us to get rid of.
This is a sure way to continuously Declutter Your Home.
This may seem difficult at first because as humans we tend to have some form of personal attachments to things.
Or we always tell ourselves that we may need the item sometime in the future. However, if we want to be honest, we always rarely do.
To make this easier, when you identify items you want to get rid of, ask yourself whether you will actually use it, and how soon do you think you will actually need to use it.
The truth is half of the things we eventually get rid of never really crosses our mind again.
If you can, keep items along eye sight to guarantee using the things you own.
‘’ The best way to find out what we really need is to get rid of what we don’t’’
Strive to buy less but focus on quality items that will last longer and serve you better.
3. Plan To Declutter Often
The truth is it gets a lot harder as the pile grows bigger, so plan to declutter often, do not let the pile get to a point where it becomes too overwhelming to start.
A tip is to set aside some time every other day to sort through little clutters, put things away in their space, go through mails before they become a huge scary pile.
These little steps prevent any overwhelm that may come in the future with tackling a lot more.

4. Stay Organized With An Entry Station
An entry station does not necessarily have to be a mudroom or closet,
All you need is a simple area where you can toss keys, coats, cellphones, and more as you get into your home. This is a great idea for an organization.
You will easily avoid items being tossed on the next available surface when you come into your home. This makes it easier to continuously declutter Your Home.
A pretty ceramic dish like this one, or a or pockets by your door just like this is a perfect idea.
You could also opt for a simple and functional entry way organizer like this.

5. Plan a Garage Sale or Plan To Donate
A vital part of decluttering is ensuring that the items are out of your home. Getting value for items could also be a great motivation to declutter often.
To do this you can plan a garage sale or just donate no longer needed items to your local donation center.
You will sure be putting a smile on the face of the new owner.
If you are not a fan of garage sales just like me, there are many options online where you can sell items no longer needed but in useable shape. (e.g., Poshmark)

6. Sort Your Closet Using The Hanger Flip Method
The hanger flip is a great idea which I use all the time and I love. It’s a pretty common decluttering tip.
With the hanger flip, all you need to do is flip your hangers with clothes on them the opposite way, and then each time you wear any, you flip the hanger back the other way.
With this method, you can see which of the hangers are still the opposite way in a couple of weeks, those are the clothes you haven’t worn, and then you can consider getting rid of those clothes.
